9/28/2018 0 Comments September 28th, 2018Hello Parents! This week was a good one! Here is a rundown of what we got up to: -In Math we learned about the rules of even and odd numbers -We also worked on strategies we can use to count large numbers by counting and organizing popsicle sticks, paper clips, beads and buttons -In Language arts we worked on our "D", "T" and "S" letter sounds - We also made sentences by cutting up (photocopied) pages out of books and rearranging the words to give them new meaning! - In Science we brainstormed insects we knew and created a page with over 100 insect drawings! In the coming week we will be continuing our work with reading and writing as well as introducing some new concepts in math and starting up our social studies. Here's a sneak peek: -In math we will begin to work with number lines. The use of number lines as a tool will become a key visualization we will use to help students when we begin adding and subtracting with double digits. -In social studies we will begin by mapping our classroom, school and community. This will lay the baseline for comparison as we study three different Canadian cultures through the year. Hope you are all having a great weekend, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me an email! Thanks, Dallin
