I hope the cold weather has not been treating you too poorly. The student of room one showed exceptional patience this week while being cooped up inside. Never the less, the learning continued! Here's some 0f the highlights: -We have shifted our math focus into subtraction and will continue to do so for a few weeks. -Our artist in residence came for a visit and taught us to make "pinch pots" and little beads for the clay we harvested from the Belfast flower garden -We had a presentation on Monday by the conservation group "CPAW"s about endangered animals Next week: -Students are challenged to design and build thermoses to learn about insulation for our hot and cold Science unit -We will write a mid-year writing assessment -We will fire our pinch pots and beads in the kiln -As a way to learn about adjectives we will be writing our own version of "On our way to grandpa's farm" *Don't forget, there is no school on Thursday and Friday because of teacher's convention! * Have a great weekend, -Dallin |
